ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team got back in the win column on Wednesday morning, sweeping Southeast Oklahoma State 7-0 at the UTA Tennis Center. The Mavericks improve to 2-5 on the season and get their first win in over a month.
The Mavericks rolled to a double point victory to start the morning.
Miguel Cabrera and
Angel Diaz took down Guilherme Dos Santos and Thabo Ncube on court three 6-3.
Nick Beamish and
Solano Caffarena finished doubles play and picking up the doubles point for the Mavericks with a 6-4 win over Juan Scoppetta and Manuel Pilotto, 6-4 in the No. 2 position.
It was a clean sweep in the singles competition.
Angel Diaz picked up his first win of the season with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court one.
Miguel Cabrera took No 2 7-5, 6-2. After a tough 7-5 first set win, Alan Franco cruised to a 6-3 second set on court three.
Alejandro Hayen won on court four easily, 6-3, 6-1.
Ricardo Alban took court five 6-1, 7-5. Freshman
Nick Beamish ended the match with a 6-0, 6-4 win on court six.
