ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's tennis team picked up their fifth straight win and fifth straight sweep on Saturday, taking down Abilene Christian 4-0 at the UTA Tennis Center. The win puts the Mavs above .500 on the season, as they now sit at 6-5.
The Mavericks wasted no time claiming the doubles point.Â
Alan Sau Franco and
Alejandro Hayen took court one by a score of 6-1.Â
Miguel Cabrera and
Angel Diaz quickly followed with a 6-1 win on court three to take the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.
After
Nick Beamish had his doubles match called, he was the first to finish singles competition, dropping just one game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 win on court six.
Alan Sau Franco followed up and made it a 3-0 match by taking No. 3 6-3, 6-1 over Mihaly Deli.
The match came to an end when
Angel Diaz took court one in straight sets 6-1, 6-4 to complete the sweep for the Mavericks.

The Mavericks will hit the road to take on Rice in Houston on Thursday, March 25th. The match is making up a previous match that was postponed.
