MONROE, La. - The UT Arlington women's tennis team stayed perfect in Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday morning, defeating the ULM Warhawk 4-1 in Monroe. The Mavericks are now 13-3 overall and 6-0 in Sun Belt competition.
Carla Pons and
Almudena Boza got the ball rolling in doubles competition, defeatin Jimena Garbino and Daniela Hernandez 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.Â
Bruna Casasampere and
Momoka Horiguchi wrapped up doubles competition with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.Â
Liz Chileno and
Nanaka Takeuchi were leading 5-3 when their match was called on court one.
Casasampere kept carried over the momentum from doubles, winning No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-3 over Garbino to put the Mavs up 2-0.
Horiguchi followed up with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Drousile Dzeubou at No. 1 singles to put the Mavs just one point away from victory.
Daniela Hernandez picked up the lone point for the Warhawks, winning 6-4, 7-6 over Almudena Boz on court six.
Liz Chileno wrapped up the match with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 three-set win over Hala Badwy at No. 2 singles to give the Mavs a 4-1 win over ULM.
