Artberry Named Lady Mavs Strength and Conditioning Coach

ARLINGTON — Head coach Shereka Wright has announced Sha'hada Artberry as the new UT Arlington Women's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach on Tuesday afternoon.

"I'm so excited to welcome Sha'hada to the family," said Wright. "He comes highly recommended with a wealth of experience. His work ethic and energy will be felt immediately within our program."

Artberry will work directly with Lady Mavs basketball and oversee workout plans while controlling the programming and design of their conditioning as he looks to maximize performance and minimize injury. Artberry will also serve as the team's nutrition specialist.

"I cannot express how excited I am for this opportunity with UTA," said Artberry. "I want to thank so many people who helped me get to this point, and I am so grateful for all the experiences and memories. Thank you to UTA and Coach Reke for allowing me this opportunity. I cannot wait to get started."

Artberry is no stranger to the Sun Belt Conference. He spent the last two seasons with Arkansas State University, serving as the Associate Director of Basketball Athletic Performance before being promoted to Director of Basketball Athletic Performance this past summer and Men's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Before his time with the Red Wolves, Artberry spent time at Southlake Carroll High School as the Sports Performance Coach and the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith as the Director of Athletic Performance.

Artberry graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning. He was a four-year member of the upstart Bison football team and did a student assistant internship with the football, track and field and volleyball programs.
