Mavs Look to Keep Winning Streak Alive at UTSA

SAN ANTONIO– The UT Arlington men's tennis team (7-3) will look to continue their four-match win streak when they travel to San Antonio to take on the UTSA Roadrunners on Wednesday, March 2 for a 1 pm match.
 
The Mavericks have been impressive in singles dual matches, with a combined 42-18 record amongst all players.  Maks Lukman is 8-2 on the year, while Daichi Akiyoshi is 7-1.
 
Dating back to tournament action, Alan Sau Franco and Miguel Cabrera are tied for the team lead of 12 wins on the year.  Ricardo Alban is one win away from achieving double-digit victories.
 
UTA will need to improve their doubles play, as they currently hold a .591 winning percentage in dual play in doubles action.  Habib Stambouli and Ricardo Alban have been flawless this spring, holding a 3-0 record when playing together.  Overall, the Mavericks are strongest on court two with a combined 6-2 record among four different duos.
 
SCOUTING UTSA
The Roadrunners are currently 5-3 on the year and are coming off a 4-3 loss to Louisiana on Saturday. Joao Ceolin is the mainstay at No. 1 singles and holds a 5-1 record, while Sebastian Rodriguez has been an impressive 5-2 at the No. 3 slot.The Mavericks own a 26-16 record against UTSA all-time and a 12-4 record in San Antonio. However, the Roadrunners have won three of the last four matches.
  
ON DECK
UTA will play two home matches this weekend, taking on Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Friday at noon before playing Wichita State on Sunday at noon, both at the UTA Tennis Center.
