Cajun Offense Powers Past Mavs

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – The Mavericks fell to Louisiana in a 9-1 defeat Friday night at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park as UTA now sits on an overall record of 11-12 and a conference record of 3-4.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: Louisiana (L, 9-1)
Aaliyah White led the Mavericks' offense going 2-2 at the plate. Graduate student KJ Murphy, Meagan Smith and Morgan Rios also contributed to UTA's five total hits on the night. Center fielder Reagan Hukill was responsible for the Mavs' lone run as the junior knocked a sacrifice fly to get UTA on the board.

Freshman Jessica Adams got the start on the mound for UTA as she threw 4.1 giving up 6 runs – 5 earned – across 22 Cajuns.

Freshman Morgan Max came in for the Mavs and went on to pitch the remainder of the contest. The lefty faced 9 batters as she allowed 3 runs off 2 hits. With UTA unable to get any more runs across, Adams tabbed her eighth loss of the season.
