MOBILE, Ala. - The UT Arlington men's tennis team (12-11, 1-5 SBC) fell in its final regular season match of the year, 4-0, to South Alabama on Sunday morning.
The Jaguars picked up the early doubles point by winning on court two and court one.
Daichi Akiyoshi and
Solano Caffarena fell 6-4 on court two before
Miguel Cabrera and
Anton Shepp dropped a hard-fought 7-6 (8-6) match on court one.
Alan Sau Franco and
Ricardo Alban were winning 6-5 when their match was called.
South Alabama continued its momentum into singles matches, winning all three of their matches in straight sets.Â
Habib Stambouli was the first to fall, lsoing 6-2, 6-3 on court six.Â
Anton Shepp dropped his match on court three 6-3, 6-2.
Needing just one point to win the match, the Jaguars clinched the win with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) win on court two over
Miguel Cabrera.
