Women's Basketball Hires Lewis as Director of Basketball Operations

ARLINGTON – Former Baylor and Alabama standout Jordan Lewis has been named the Director of Basketball Operations for the UT Arlington women's basketball program for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

Lewis replaces Kae'Lynn Boyd in this role, who was promoted to Assistant Coach with the Lady Mavs earlier this summer.

"I'm so excited to welcome Jordan to the family," said Head Coach Shereka Wright. "It was important for me to hire someone who knows my expectations and standards of the program. I had the pleasure of coaching Jordan while I was an assistant coach at the University of Alabama for two years. Jordan has an impressive resume both on and off the floor and she will add another layer of experience to our staff. She will be a great asset for current and future Lady Mavs."

Lewis put together a terrific career, spending five seasons at Alabama, where she earned All-SEC Second Team honors before wrapping her career up at Baylor by being named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year as well as All-Big 12 First Team honors.

Lewis finished her career as the NCAA leader in games played with 165 and became the third Baylor Bear to record a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists at West Virginia. She led the Bears with 185 assists and was tops in the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio. She was selected in the second round of the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun (24th pick).

In her final season at Alabama in 2020-21, Lewis averaged 17.0 points per game and 4.2 assists.

Lewis graduated in 2019 from the University of Alabama with a degree in marketing and later received an MBA in 2021 from Alabama.

UTA won the Sun Belt Tournament Championship this past March in its final year in the conference. The Lady Mavs finished with a 20-8 record and nearly upset No. 3 seed Iowa State on its home floor in the NCAA Tournament. UTA will go on to the Western Athletic Conference this upcoming season.
