ESTERO, Fla. – The first piece of UT Arlington's 2022-23 non-conference men's basketball schedule has been officially unveiled as the Mavericks will head to Southwest Florida the week of Thanksgiving to compete in the Gulf Coast Showcase Nov. 21-23.
The eight-team tournament will guarantee each school three games at Hertz Arena – centrally located between the gulf beach cities of Fort Myers and Naples.
UTA will begin the event on Monday, Nov. 21, at 5 p.m. Eastern against Drexel. Below is the complete opening-day schedule:
- 11 a.m. ET – Toledo vs. Kansas City
- 1:30 p.m. ET – East Carolina vs. Indiana State
- 5 p.m. ET – Drexel vs. UT Arlington
- 7:30 p.m. ET – Northern Kentucky vs. FGCU
Pending the outcome of UTA's first-ever meeting with the Dragons will dictate who and when the Mavs play on Tuesday and Wednesday. A win would pit UTA against either NKU or FGCU in the nightcap on day two; whereas a loss would result in the Mavs playing in the 1:30 p.m. timeslot.
All four game times for Tuesday and Wednesday will be the same as Monday, with semifinal contests on Nov. 22 at 5:00/7:30 Eastern. Wednesday's championship game will tip at 7:30 p.m.
