Box Score TULSA, Okla. – The UT Arlington men's tennis team finished the ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center this weekend with Joan Torres Espinosa taking a consolation round win.
 
Espinosa lost his first match in the pre-qualifying round to Tulane's Luc Hoeijmans 6-2, 6-0. Then, in a three-set consolation match, Espinosa retaliated, taking out Martin Bugaj of St. John's 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 to conclude the weekend.
 
Solano Caffarena and Dante Teramo also competed, highlighted by Caffarena falling in a tough three-set match to Troy's Nicolas Simkin. After a strong first set score of 6-0, Caffarena fell in close second set 7-6 (6). Simkin closed out the deciding set 6-4 to take the victory.
 
The Mavericks will be back in action for the ITA Regional event in Fort Worth at TCU's Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Oct. 19.
