JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Following a massive road win, the UT Arlington women's basketball team (2-8, 0-2 WAC) are looking to make it two in a row on the road on Tuesday night when they take on Jacksonville State (4-6, 0-0 CUSA) at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

This will be the first ever meeting between the Lady Mavs and the Gamecocks. Also is the first game in the CUSA-WAC Challenge for UTA.

GOOD AS ADVERTISED
Avery Brittingham is living up to expectations as through 10 games this season, Brittingham has posted a double-double in five of those contests. This has her ranked 18th in the country and sits alone at the top of the WAC leaderboards.

Brittingham has also been a menace on the boards in the infant stages of the season, averaging 9.1 rebounds per contest to lead the Lady Mavs which also has her ranked 49th in the NCAA and 1st in the WAC. In those 10 games, Brittingham has pulled down 91 rebounds, 1st in the conference. She seems to be at her best on the defensive end where she averages 7.6 boards per game on defense, which is 1st in the WAC and 15th in the NCAA.

Sharpshooter transfer from Seattle U,
Taliyah Clark leads the Lady Mavs with 12.8 points per game and has hit 17 three-pointers on the season.Â

Gia Adams also was expected to play a huge role when she transferred to UTA from Tennessee State. The 2021-22 Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year is the third leading scorer on the Lady Mavs averaging 12 points per game while also averaging 31.4 minutes played per game which is tops on the team. Adams is also second on the team with 15 steals through 10 games.

CAREER HIGHS'
In the last five games, five Lady Mavs have posted career bests' with Clark (28 points) and Adela Valkova (16 points) coming this past Saturday at Sam Houston.
Keiori Lee dropped 18 points at 8th-ranked Colorado.
Nya Threatt scored 17 points against Grand Canyon and
Hannah Humphrey posted 20 points at Abilene Christian.

The Lady Mavs are one of the best teams in the country when it comes to getting to the free throw line, averaging 20.20 free throw attempts per game. This is the 61st best mark in the country and 3rd best in the WAC behind California Baptist (24.22 - 11th in NCAA) and SFA (21.30 - 40th in NCAA).

The 14.70 free throws made per game has the Lady Mavs 3rd in the WAC and 49th in the NCAA while their 72.8-percent from the charity stripe is 4th best in the conference.

MAKING IT RAIN
The Lady Mavs 32.6 percentage from beyond the arc is the 3rd best three-point percentage in the WAC while their 5.9 three pointers per game is the 5th best mark in the conference.

The tandem of Clark and Humphrey lead the charge for the Lady Mavs, with Clark drilling 17 three-pointers and Humphrey hitting 13 so far this season to pace UTA.

The Lady Mavs drained 11 three-pointers in their first contest of the 2023-24 season. They went 11-22 from beyond the arc for a .500 shooting percentage.

Averaging 13.5 assists per game as a team is 5th best in the WAC with four Lady Mavs in double figures in assists on the season led by Brittingham (29), Adams (28), Threatt (27) and Clark (19).

FAR FROM RESERVES
The Lady Mavs sport one of the better benches in the WAC, averaging 20.1 points per game, this has UTA 6th in the conference. Humphrey leads the charge averaging 7.2 points per game.

SCOUTING JAX STATE
The Gamecocks are coming off their biggest win of the season, taking down Coastal Carolina 84-72 at home. Jax State is a perfect 4-0 at home. Kristol Ayson leads the team in scoring with 9.1 points per game. Keiara Griffin has pulled down a team-best 52 total rebounds. Bre'Anna Rhodes is second on the team in points per game (8.1) and rebounds (51).
