EL PASO, TEXAS --- The UT Arlington volleyball team (21-11) saw its season end with a 25-18, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21 loss to UTEP on Saturday in a National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) second round matchup inside Memorial Gym.

Despite the outcome, the Mavs finished the year with the program's highest single season win total since 2014 and the second best in nearly 20 years.

UTEP (23-9) advances to the quarterfinal round, where they will face Clemson.

Brianna Ford led UTA's offense once again with 17 kills, a .297 hitting percentage, 13 digs, three blocks, two aces and two assists in what was her 19th double-double of the season. She also eclipsed 900 career digs, finishing the campaign with 907, and improved her all-time kill total to 1,285, which places her just 12 shy of former teammate
Brooke Townsend, who had 1,297 from 2018-22.

The trio of
Paige Reagor,
Briana Brown and
Jalie Tritt added nine kills apiece, led by Reagor's .294 hitting percentage.
Kortney Puckett chipped in five kills at a .444 clip with a pair of blocks.

Mollie Blank added her eighth double-double of the season - and the 30th of her career - with 38 assists, 10 digs, two aces and two kills.
Alli Wells finished third on the team with six digs along with five assists while hometown product
Alyssa Duran had five digs.
The Mavs are 6-3 all-time in the NIVC following previous appearances in 2019 and 1992.
