NORMAN, OK – The Mavericks close a busy two-meet weekend at the Sooner Invite with new school records and a number of top-three finishers.
An amazing day for
Tatyana Terrell, who broke the women's 400-meter dash school record. The previous record of 54.01 was set in 2019 but was shattered by Terrell who ran a personal best time of 53.67. She placed 2nd in this event as well as the 200-meter dash where she ran another collegiate PR of 23.12.
Terrell,
Madison Pippins,
Mikeya Washington and
Adeyemi Talabi continue to shine in the 4x100 meter relay. The group placed first with a winning time of 44.76.
Joel Bengtsson showed out in the men's 110-meter hurdles, placing 1st with a time of 13.90.
In the women's 100-meter hurdles,
Krystal Igbo took 2nd place with a time of 14.04 and
Zaire Moore came in 3rd with a close time of 14.22.
Madison Pippins and
Mikeya Washington finished the women's 100-meter dash in the top two spots. Pippins claimed the win with a time of 11.74 and Washington was a very close 2nd with a time of 11.76.
Shelby West ran a season's best time of 59.99 in the women's 400-meter hurdles, earning herself a 3rd place finish.
Khalid Mendez set a major collegiate PR in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 20.83. He finished in 3rd place.
In the field events,
Malaiya Jedkins placed 4th in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.21 meters.
Marvin Walford also finished in 4th place in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.87 meters.
