Brianna Ford became the 20th player in program history to achieve 1,000 career kills as the UT Arlington volleyball team (11-4, 0-2 WAC) was defeated 25-20, 25-12, 25-17 by Stephen F. Austin (13-3, 2-0 WAC) inside Shelton Gym on Monday.

Ford, who finished with six kills in the match, got the milestone termination on a right-side attack toward the end of the second set. She now has 1,002 in her career, which is seven shy of surpassing Tara Frantz (1,008, 2008-11) for 19th place on the all-time list.

UTA will be back in action on the road this weekend as they travel to Seattle U on Thursday and Utah Valley on Saturday.

Briana Brown and
Evyn Snook also added six kills apiece to assist the offense.

The duo of
Sophie Skinner (14) and
Mollie Blank (10) combined for 24 assists while
Alli Wells chipped in five to go along with six digs.
Paige Reagor, who finished with five kills, added a team-best two blocks, including one of the solo variety.

Blank led all Mavs with seven digs while
Alyssa Duran chipped in six.
Sophie Ocampo, who earned her first career start, produced four kills while
Alexis Bull tacked on three terminations.

With her six digs, Wells pushed her career total to 1,852, which is 36 shy of moving past Amber Pack (1,887, 1999-02) for third place on the program's all-time list. Alicia Shaffer (2,033, 2008-11) and Ashley Smith (1,921, 2003-06) reside in the top two spots.

This was the first meeting between the two programs in Nacogdoches since 2011. In 62 all-time meetings, the Mavs are now 31-20-1 against SFA, although they fell to 9-17 on the road in the series.
