SEATTLE, Wash. --- The UT Arlington volleyball team (12-4, 1-2 WAC) got double-doubles from
Brianna Ford and
Mollie Blank to produce a 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-18 win over Seattle U (5-9, 0-3 WAC) inside the Redhawk Center on Thursday.
In what was the home debut for the Redhawks, who played their first 13 matches on the road this year, Ford registered a match-high 17 kills at a .424 clip along with 10 digs and five blocks while Blank tallied 21 assists, 11 digs and a pair of kills.
Offensively,
Kortney Puckett joined Ford in double-digit kills with 11 as she hit a team-best .529 with a match-best six blocks. The trio of
Jalie Tritt,
Paige Reagor and
Briana Brown added eight terminations apiece.
Sophie Skinner tied her season high with 23 assists to go along with four digs and one of the team's three aces. The other two came from
Alli Wells, who had a match-high 16 digs and six assists, and
Alyssa Duran, who produced 13 digs and a pair of assists.
At the net, Reagor added four blocks while Brown tallied three.
Sophie Ocampo chipped in four kills and a pair of blocks.
Evyn Snook contributed a pair of terminations.
As a team, the Mavs hit .311 thanks in large part to a .511 performance in a fourth set that saw them produce 16 kills and just one error over 26 attempts. It was the sixth time UTA has hit at least .300 this year
The Mavs will close out their road trip at Utah Valley on Saturday at 2 p.m.
NOTES
With her 17 kills, Ford pushed her career total to 1,019, which moved her past Tara Frantz (1,008, 2008-11) for 19th place on the all-time list. Next up is Jackie Bennett, who had 1,047 from 1985-88.
Wells, meanwhile, moved her all-time dig total to 1,868 as she is now just 20 shy of surpassing Amber Pack (1,887, 1999-02) for third on the program's career list. Alicia Shaffer (2,033, 2008-11) and Ashley Smith (1,921, 2003-06) reside in the top two spots.
UTA is now 3-1 all-time against Seattle U.
