ARLINGTON, TEXAS –The UT Arlington volleyball team (23-2,13-0 WAC) continued to remain unbeaten in conference play with a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-18, 25-13) over the Utah Valley Wolverines (17-9, 8-6 WAC) this Saturday at the College Park Center to claim the top seed in the WAC tournament later this month. Additionally, the Mavs 16th sweep of the season increased their win streak to 14 games.
The victory gave the Mavs at least a share of the regular season championship, the first time since 2002. A win on Monday over Tarleton State will give the Mavs the outright championship.
The Mavs put together a balanced attack with 35 kills led by freshman
Sjakkie Donkers, who had nine kills in the win.
Paige Reagor pitched in eight kills and also led the Mavs in blocks with seven on the day.
Brianna Ford, a graduate from Amarillo, Texas, had a solid outing with seven kills and seven digs in the sweep. Fellow graduate
Mollie Blank had 25 assists, eight digs and three kills.
Sophie Ocampo rounded out the Mavs kill total with three of her own.
Both
Evyn Snook and
Alyssa Duran each came in off the bench and provided a service ace in the win.

The Mavs conclude the regular season with a three-game road trip starting with a matchup on Monday, Nov. 11 against with the Tarleton State Texans (7-19, 2-11 WAC) at 6 p.m. CT. in Stephenville, Texas.
