ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington women's basketball team remains undefeated at home after defeating Florida International 72-56 on Monday evening inside the College Park Center.
The Lady Mavs had four players with double digit scoring efforts led by
Koi Love and
Taliyah Clark who both finished with 17 points apiece. Love finished 8 of 14 from the floor while Clark finished 6 of 13 from the field, including a game high four three pointers. Love chipped in with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 33 minutes while Clark added four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes of action.
Avery Brittingham finished with 12 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals in 34 minutes of action. It's Brittingham's seventh game this season registering double digit scoring efforts while the four steals mark a season high.
Nya Threatt recorded her best offensive output against the Panthers, finishing with 12 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 32 minutes.
Zoe Nelson finished with nine points, five rebounds, and a pair of assists and steals in 30 minutes.
The Lady Mavs won the opening tip and never trailed once in the first quarter despite a four-minute stretch where they couldn't score.
The Panthers managed to take the lead in the second quarter, a one-point lead with 2:49 left in the half. It was a short-lived lead for FIU, with the Lady Mavs immediately reclaiming the lead and never looked back, going into halftime up 34-26.
The Lady Mavs' best quarter came in the fourth, when UTA put up 20 points. Their largest lead came in the fourth quarter as well when the Lady Mavs found themselves up 19, 64-45, with about six and a half minutes left to go in the game.
As a team, the 47 percent is the second highest shooting percentage the Lady Mavs have posted this season. UTA forced FIU into 24 turnovers which resulted in 24 points for the Lady Mavs. The Lady Mavs had their best night from the free throw line, making 11 of their 13 free throws for 84.6 percent.

The Lady Mavs hit the road again for their final road non-conference game of the 2024-25 campaign when they travel to San Antonio to battle the Roadrunners of UTSA on Thursday, Dec. 19. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. from inside the Convocation Center.
