ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's basketball returns to the court on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from the College Park Center in Arlington against Evansville (3-7). The game will be broadcast live on
ESPN+ and on the Varsity App, 102.5 FM and KTNO 620 AM with the Voice of the Mavs, Josh Sours.
UTA enters play following a 77-68 win over Louisiana-Monroe this past Saturday, while Evansville is coming off of a 75-67 loss at home to Chattanooga, and have dropped three straight overall.

Lance Ware had 17 points, six rebounds and three blocks in the win on Saturday on his way to WAC Newcomer of the Week honors. Forward
Diante Smith is also coming off his two most productive games of his UTA career, scoring 16 in the win over ULM and 15 against Arkansas State on the road back on Dec. 12 in Jonesboro.
The Purple Aces are led by third-year head coach David Ragland. The Evansville, Indiana, native has coached previously at Vincennes (2008-10) and has also been an assistant at Butler (2021-22), Utah State (2018-21), Valparaiso (2016-18), Northern Kentucky (2015-16), Bowling Green (2014-15), Indiana State (2010-14), Vincennes (2005-08) and Frank Phillips (2004-05).
Evansville is led by forward Gabriel Pozzato, who is averaging a team-high 15.4 ppg and 3.8 rpg. Guards Cameron Hafner (14.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg) and Tayshawn Comer (11.5 ppg and 3.7 apg) are also key fixtures for the Purple Aces.
This will mark the second-ever meeting between UTA and Evansville, with the only previous meeting being in 1983 when the Purple Aces beat the Mavs 86-74 in Evansville, Indiana.
