TULSA, Okla.-- The UT Arlington women's tennis team (8-3) swept Oral Roberts 7-0 in their first match of their weekend series on Saturday in Tulsa.
 
Doubles came down to the wire, with the Mavs pulling out two wins to secure the early lead heading into singles play.
 
Court 1 fell as Tara Gorinsek and Mariana Manyoma-Velasquez could not overcome the duo of Chara Grammatikaki and Arina Sorokina. The Golden Eagles took the 6-3 victory to give the team a doubles win.
 
In two close matches on Courts 2 and 3, the Mavericks retaliated to close out doubles play and earn the first point of the match.
 
Bruna Casasampere and Francisca Vergara​​ improved their record to 7-2 with a win on Court 2. The pair defeated Sasha Lebedeva and Reagan Miley by two games, closing out the set 7-5.
 
On Court 3, Sarina Reinertsen and Ana Paula Jimenez finished off a tight match to push their winning streak to three, triumphing in the tiebreaker over Zere Iskakova and Luna Morini. As the Golden Eagles forced a tiebreaker at 6-6, Reinertsen and Jimenez dominated, allowing only two points for the 7-6 (2) win.
 
The momentum carried over into singles play, where the Mavs did not drop a set in securing the sweep.
 
Reinertsen had a strong showing on Court 1, allowing Lebedeva only two games in her fifth victory of the spring. Lebedeva earned two games in the first set before Reinertsen closed it out 6-2. Reinertsen continued her success in the second set, closing out the match 6-0.
 
In her Court 2 debut, Jimenez also finished her match in a dominant fashion over Sorokina. Jimenez took a strong 6-3 victory to go up a set. Sorokina made a small push to bring the second set within two games, but Jimenez rose to the occasion and finished off the set 6-4.
 
Manyoma-Velasquez extended her winning streak to five as she recovered from a close first set on Court 3. Grammatikaki kept the first set tight, evening the score at 5-5 before Manyoma-Velasquez won the two games necessary to go up 7-5. The momentum continued in the second set, where Manyoma-Velasquez finished her match 6-3.
 
On Court 4, Vergara won over Miley in straight sets for her tenth overall win. As the first set came down to two games, Vergara pushed through to secure the 6-4 set win. Vergara then allowed Miley only two games in the second set before winning 6-2.
 
Casasampere earned her 14th overall win and eighth win of the spring in a strong victory over Iskakova. She closed out the first set 6-2, dropping only two games. Casasamapere was even stronger in the second, taking the 6-0 victory on Court 5.
 
On Court 6, Ioana Dumitrescu earned her first win of the season as she earned a strong straight-set win over Cassie Cervantes. Dumitrescu closed out the first set 6-3 to go up in the match. The next set came down to two games, but Dumitrescu triumphed 6-4 to mark the victory.
 
The Mavericks will be back in action to take on Tulsa at 11 a.m. Sunday. Their next home match is set for Wednesday as they look to host North Texas at 2 p.m.
