INSIDE THE SCORES
CRONJE
A steady opening moved Cronje into a T-7 after 18 holes. Opening on the third hole, Cronje birdied the par-4 sixth, the par-3 eighth, and the par-3 14th with only two bogeys. He tallied 12 pars on the card, with only a triple bogey on the par-5 16th preventing a higher finish.
Again starting on the third hole Monday afternoon, he recorded 16 pars. Cronje birdied the par-5 15th, erasing his only blemish on the round, a bogey on the par-5 11th.
MIYA
Teeing off on hole two, Miya also birdied the par-4 sixth, along with the par-4 12th. Miya had 11 pars on the opening round, with four bogeys and a double on the par-4 10th.
In round two, Miya again carded 76. Beginning on hole two and after beginning four-over through five holes, Miya settled down with pars on eight of the next nine holes before finishing with a flurry. Back-to-back birdies on the par-3 17th and par-4 18th led to a two-under finish to the round.
BECK
Beck also carded a pair of birdies during the opening round (par-5 second, par-3 14th), while tying Miya with 11 pars, four bogeys, and one triple.
In round two, Beck carded 12 pars with three bogeys on each nine.
KANTH
A birdie on the par-3 17th was the only red number during the opening round for Kanth, who also carded nine pars and eight bogeys.
In round two, Kanth carded three birdies (par-3 second, par-5 11th, par-3 17th) to go along with 11 pars and three bogeys.
MILLER
Miller was one of three Mavericks who birdied the par-4 sixth, his only birdie of the round. He had 10 pars in the opening round, along with six bogeys and one double.
During round two, Miller again tallied one birdie, this time on the par-4 fifth, and finished with 11 pars and two bogeys.
GRIESSEL
Building off last week's momentum, Griessel birdied three holes on the front nine (par-4 second, par-3 third, par-4 ninth), sandwiched around two double bogeys. Griessel finished the round with eight pars and four bogeys.
In the afternoon round, Griessel again carded three birdies (par 3-third, par-4 6th, par-3 14th) while also tallying eight pars and six bogeys.
CHEVALIER
It was a difficult opening round for Chevalier, who did not card a birdie and had only five pars to start the day.
However, Chevalier improved by 13 shots on the closing 18, highlighted by a team-high four birdies (par-4 first, par-3 third, par-4 sixth, par-5 16th).
