ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington women's basketball incoming transfer Laura Bello will be participating for her home country of Ireland for the Senior Women's National Team in a pair of exhibition games in early August.
Bello and the Irish will take on Denmark and the Netherlands in two friendly games set to take place in Dublin, Ireland from August 1st through the 4th.
"It gives me a sense of pride to be able to represent Ireland, especially this being my first time," said Bello. "I feel I can finally give back to my country after how much it's done for and shaped me."
Bello enters her first season in a Lady Mavs uniform after spending the past two seasons at Idaho State where she appeared in 46 games, making 44 starts and averaged 9.7 points per contest while averaging 7.7 rebounds and 26.9 minutes per game. Before she arrived at Idaho State, Bello played her freshman season at Division II Newman University. For the Jets, Bello appeared in 27 games, making one start while shooting an astounding .469 from the floor to average 7.6 points per game.
