ARLINGTON, TEXAS - The UT Arlington volleyball team defeated the UL-Monroe Warhawks in a 3-0 sweep (25-13) (25-21) (25-20) in the final match of the UTA Classic this Saturday. The win marked the squad's fifth sweep and sixth straight win to start the season.
The Mavericks put together a team effort in the sweep with 44 kills distributed by ten different Mavericks.
Paige Reagor led the team with 11, while Cansu Günaydin,
Brianna Ford and
Jalie Tritt each picked up five a piece.
Sophie Ocampo played in sets two and three and picked up a team-high five blocks in the win.
The Mavs, as a team, produced 47 digs in the win, which is a season-high for a three-set match.
Samantha Glenn tied her season-high in digs with 13, and
Isabella Camacho had 9.

"Everybody contributed in the win," said head coach
J.T. Wenger. "We did a good job in the counterattack and I'm proud of our squad for putting together a win in the final match of the UTA Classic. We got some momentum heading into Missouri for our next tournament."
NEXT UP
The Mavericks will head out to Springfield, Missouri for the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational. The Mavs take on the host school, Missouri State, to open the tournament of Friday, Sep. 12, at 6 p.m.. The Mavs then face off against Saint Louis on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Weber State at 10 a.m.
