ARLINGTON, Texas – As UT Arlington student-athletes achieved championship success in competition, the foundation was laid in the classroom.
As a collective, UT Arlington student-athletes combined for a 3.038 grade point average in the Fall 2024 semester while holding a 3.134 overall department GPA. Of the 11 athletics units, all 11 teams earned at least a 2.8 GPA during Fall 2024, led by women's tennis with a 3.520 GPA, just ahead of women's basketball with a 3.279 GPA.
Those teams were followed by men's tennis (3.236), women's track and field (3.130), softball (2.964), baseball (2.962), men's golf (2.910), men's track and field (2.905) and men's basketball (2.889), women's volleyball (2.816), and women's golf (2.805).
This is the 22nd semester in a row that the athletic department held a cumulative department GPA above a 3.0. Overall, eight of the 11 programs hold a 3.0 GPA or better with all 11 holding a 2.9 GPA or better.
