ARLINGTON, TX – Two Mavericks were recognized by the Western Athletic Conference this week, as UT Arlington claimed two of the league's Athlete of the Week awards.
Mira Ledermueller was named Setter of the Week, while
Samantha Glenn secured Libero of the Week after helping UTA to a pivotal win over Utah Tech. This win ended the Mavericks' four-match skid and snapped the Trailblazers' five-match winning streak.
This marks the third time this season that both Ledermueller and Glenn have earned their respective weekly honors.
Ledermueller led the match with 38 assists and continues to pace the WAC in assists per set with 8.56 on the season.
Glenn anchored the Mavericks' defense, leading the match with 23 digs. She continues to lead the WAC in both digs per set (4.25) and total digs (327) this season.
"Mira and Sam did a fantastic job in their respective positions on Saturday," said Coach Schatow. "Mira was able to connect with the middles and has incredible block touches at the net. Sam simply keeps the ball off the floor like I have never seen before. I am so proud of both of them and another week of deserved recognition."
