ARLINGTON, TX – The UT Arlington volleyball team fell to Utah Valley in a straight-set match Saturday afternoon at College Park Center (26-24, 25-20, 25-22). With the loss, the Mavericks move to an 11-11 overall record and a 3-7 mark in conference play.
The opening set featured a steady back-and-forth battle between both teams before
Utah Valley pulled ahead by three, 17-15. Utah Valley took a three-point scoring run from there, bringing the score 21-16. UTA responded with a three-point scoring run of their own, 19-21. Back-and-forth kills on both sides before, UTA evened the score, 24-24. Utah Valley ultimately ended up taking the first set, 26-24.
UTA started strong in set two, leading 4-2. Both teams kept the score within at least a two-point gap all the way up to the 16-14 point, when UVU was able to edge ahead by one, taking the score 17-14. A three-point scoring run from the Wolverines widened the gap, 23-18 and they were able to push through and take set two, 25-20.
UVU started the third set, taking the lead, 6-3 and extending their lead to 11-8. Utah Valley took a four-point scoring run from 14-12 all the way to 18-12. UTA was able to regain footing, taking a three-point scoring run, bringing the score 18-15. Kills from

Evyn Snook helped the Mavericks come back up the stretch, 18-20. Ultimately, the Wolverines captured the third set, 25-22, winning the game, 3-0.
