MBB: Mavs Look to Protect Home Court Thursday vs. Cal Baptist

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's basketball (11-13, 4-6 WAC) is back home in Arlington and host California Baptist (12-11, 5-4 WAC) on Thursday, Feb. 13, on EECU Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. The game tips off at 4 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and on the radio on the Varsity App, 102.5 FM and KTNO 620 AM. Cal Baptist had a big win on Saturday at home over Grand Canyon, 85-71.

UTA is 4-2 in its last six games, however the Mavs are coming off an 0-2 road trip last week, falling at league-leader Utah Valley (94-73) and dropping a heartbreaker at the buzzer at Seattle U (67-65).

The Mavs are 7-2 at home thus far this season and are seeking their 20th home win under head coach KT Turner over the past two years.

UTA's next opponent, Cal Baptist, is off to a 12-11 start, and is 5-4 in WAC play, following an 85-71 win at home over Grand Canyon on Saturday night.

The Lancers are led by head coach Rick Croy, who has been at the helm since the spring of 2013. Croy is 375-159 all-time as a head coach, 245 of those wins during his time in Riverside (113-95 since moving to Division I). Prior to taking over at CBU, Croy was also a head coach at Citrus College. Additionally Croy served as an assistant at St. Mary's, UC Riverside and Concordia.

Cal Baptist is led by guard Dominique Daniels, Jr., who is averaging a team-high 19.7 ppg. Forwards Kendal Coleman (11.2 ppg and 8.3 rpg) and AJ Braun (10.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg) are also key fixtures for the Lancers.

Thursday's meeting between UTA and Cal Baptist will be the fourth all-time, with UTA having won the last meeting in Arlington.
