ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team (3-5) defeated Oral Roberts (2-5) in convincing fashion, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center.
 
The Mavericks started the day off strong, sweeping doubles action. The duo of Andres Medus and Mattia Ricci defeated Aaron Brewer Parv Nage 6-0 on Court 3. The team Federico Garbero and Yazid Lahjomri defeated Eli Brewer and Jonathan Evans 6-1 on Court 2. Pedro Sasso and Meethre Barot defeated Lucas Couy and Ricardo Filho 6-2 on Court 1.
 
The Mavs continued their dominant play over into singles action, earning wins on Courts 2, 3 and 4 to earn the 4-0 victory over the Golden Eagles and pick up their third win of the young season.
 
On Court 2, Medus defeated ORU's Nage 6-1, 6-1 to pick up the second point for the Mavs, making it 2-0. Sasso defeated Eli Brewer 6-1, 6-1 on Court 3 shortly after making it 3-0 Mavs. Garbero clinched the Mavs victory on Court 4, defeating Couy 6-2, 6-2.
 
The Mavs return to action next weekend when they travel down to Corpus Christi to compete in the 61st Annual H-E-B Tournament of Champions. The two-day event takes place from Friday, Feb. 21 through Saturday, Feb.22 at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. The Mavs will be joined with the host Islanders along with Louisiana Lafayette and New Mexico State.
