ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team (5-5) pulled their record to five hundred while extend their winning streak to a season high three matches after defeating Texas A&M – Corpus Christi (8-3) 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center.
 
The Mavericks remained hot, earning their third straight sweep and marks the fifth time this season they have not surrendered a single point. UTA moves their home record to 2-3 on the season as they hit the road for the next five matches.
 
With the win, the Mavs pick up their eighth win in the all-time series against the Islanders and now hold an 8-16 overall record while holding a 6-7 record at home in the series.
 
The Islanders dropped their third straight match and fall to 8-3 and 5-2 on the road.
 
The Mavs picked up the doubles point behind wins on Courts 1 and 3. The duo of Meethre Barot and Pedro Sasso got the scoring started by picking up a 6-1 win on Court 1. Andres Medus and Mattia Ricci secured the doubles point after picking up a 7-6 tiebreaker win on Court 3.
 
The Mavs remained hot in singles play, with Medus picking up the first singles point to make it 2-0 in favor of the Mavs. Medus defeated Tom Berry 6-4, 6-3 on Court 2. Sasso soon made it 3-0 for the Mavs after defeating Nicolas Trebuchet 6-3, 6-3 on Court 4. Barot clinched the fourth point and the match for UTA after defeating Nathan Favier 6-3, 4-6, 6-0.
 
UTA has a quick turnaround as the head to Abilene tomorrow to take on Abilene Christian at 1 p.m. at the Teague Center.
