GAME 1 | Wisconsin 14, UT Arlington 4
ARLINGTON, TX -- Junior Mia McNulty went 2 for 3 with a home run and an RBI for the UT Arlington Mavericks in a 14-4 loss to the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday.
Sophomore Maddie Furniss (0-3) got the ball to start for UT Arlington (2-4) and took the loss.
In the batter's box, the Mavericks were led by McNulty, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Kelsey Creech compiled a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and an RBI. Senior Dee McClarity also helped out for UT Arlington, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mavericks got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning. McNulty came across to score the lone run of the inning for UT Arlington and get them on the board.
The Mavericks lost the lead they built in the first, but got back on the board in the third trailing 6-1. which brought the score to 6-4 in favor of the Badgers. The Mavericks were unable to get any closer, as Wisconsin added eight runs to their tally on the way to a 14-4 final.
