ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington women's basketball (8-13, 2-7 WAC) returns to College Park Center on Thursday, Feb. 5, hosting Utah Tech (6-14, 1-9 WAC) as the Lady Mavericks come back home after a three-game road stint and look to bounce back with a win in front of the home crowd.
Thursday's matchup will be a celebration on multiple fronts, serving as National Women in Sports Night and Alumni Night at CPC. Former Lady Mavericks are expected to be in attendance representing multiple eras of the program with the oldest alum dating back to 1974 and the most recent from 2014.
UTA and Utah Tech meet for the eighth time, with the Mavericks holding a 4-3 edge in the all-time series. The most recent meeting came on Jan. 15, 2026, when UTA earned a 64-56 win.
UTA continues to be paced by freshman standout Kira Reynolds, who leads the Mavericks in scoring (11.7 ppg), rebounding (7.9 rpg), and blocks (2.7 bpg). Nya Threatt paces the offense with 2.7 assists per game and is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 ppg, while Kali Haizlip has been UTA's top perimeter threat, shooting 40.8% from three on the season.
Defensively, the Mavericks continue to hang their hat on the perimeter, holding opponents to 25.4% from three first in the WAC and eighth nationally. Reynolds has also been a major piece of that identity, ranking eighth nationally in total blocks (56) and seventh in blocks per game (2.67) this season. Laura Bello will also be a threat to watch on the glass, last week at Cal Baptist, Bello recorded a career high of 15-rebounds.
Utah Tech enters the week 6-14 overall (1-9 WAC) and averages 61.2 points per game. The Trailblazers are led by Kaylee Borden (14.7 ppg) with Brie Crittendon controlling the glass at 6.8 rpg while adding 8.6 ppg. Chardonnay Hartley pilots the offense with 94 assists on the season and chips in 7.7 ppg.
