MONROE, La. – UT Arlington women's golf made a big move up the leaderboard on the final day of the ULM Invitational. The Mavericks climbed four spots in the standings, finishing alone in fifth place. The four-spot ascent was tied for the biggest jump in the field. 

UTA finished with a 29-over-par 893 for the tournament. The Mavericks turned in a 3-over 291 in the final round, their best team score of the Invitational.

A pair of UTA players finished the tournament in the top 15. Nitisha Manikandesh — who entered the day in 12th — carded an even-par 72 in the final round, moving up three spots into a tie for ninth. 

The senior birdied six holes in the third round, the high-water mark for the team. Manikandesh was also among the best in the field on par 3's, recording an even-par on such holes which was tied for the fifth-best score in the tournament.

Tarini Bhoga was the Mavericks' second-best finisher, placing in a tie for 15th place with a 4-over 220. The sophomore had the lowest score of the day and the tournament for any UTA player with a 2-under 70. Bhoga recorded par or better on 16 holes in the final round.

Getting back on track after a shaky second round was Kamri Gabel. The senior shot a 1-over 73 in the third round that included 13 pars. Gabel parred eight holes on the back nine and birdied the other. The Highland Village-native finished tied for 49th. 

Rounding out the UTA lineup were Chandler Browning and Nirjara Gulhane who each finished within two strokes of Gabel. Browning was one of four UTA players to rise in the standings after the third round, moving up six spots into a tie for 57th with a 4-over 76. 

Gulhane's 5-over 77 on day two put her at 233 overall. The junior finished in a tie for 53rd.

The regular season is now in the books for UTA. The Mavericks will return to action at the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship. The tournament begins April 20 at the Stonebridge Country Club - Hills Course in McKinney. FOLLOW ALONG
