STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The UT Arlington track & field team continues its outdoor season this weekend, traveling to Stephenville Texas for the Joe Gillespie Invitational at the Oscar H. Frazier Memorial Track. The Mavericks will compete from Friday, April 17 to Saturday, April 18.
Competition begins Friday with field events, starting with the men's javelin at 1 p.m., followed by the women's javelin at 2:30 p.m. Men's discus is set for 4 p.m., with women's discus to follow at 5:30 p.m.
Running events on Friday begin with the men's 200m at 5 p.m., followed by the women's race at 5:30 p.m. The remainder of the evening includes the men's and women's 3K steeplechase, 1500m and 5000m. The women's 10K will close out the night at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday's events start at 8 a.m. with the men's and women's hammer throw. Men's pole vault and long jump are scheduled for noon. Additional field events include long jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put and triple jump.
Preliminary running events begin at 11 a.m., featuring the 110 hurdles, 100 hurdles and the men's and women's 100m dash.
The 4x100-meter relay is scheduled for 2 p.m., beginning with the men's race, followed by the women's. Finals will start at 2:50 p.m., including the 110 hurdles, 100m hurdles, men's and women's 400m dash, 100m dash, 800m run and 400m hurdles.
The meet will conclude with the men's and women's 4x400 relay at 6 p.m.
