Walters joined UTA Athletics as Communications Assistant in September 2025 and was promoted to Assistant Director of Communications in February 2026. Walters serves as the primary communications contact for volleyball and secondary contact for softball and cross country/track & field.
Prior to arriving at UTA, Walters worked as Strategic Communications Assistant at Conference USA, where she was the conference contact for cross country/track & field, men's golf, women's tennis and women's bowling. During her time at the conference office, she was named a College Sports Communications & NCAA Inclusion Grant recipient, selected as one of six young sports communication professionals nationwide to receive the honor. Walters also gained professional experience through internship stops at CBS 11 in Forth Worth and Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Walters earned her bachelor's degree in mass communication with a journalism concentration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in May 2024. A four-year student-athlete on the acrobatics & tumbling team, she balanced athletics with academics and professional development, serving as a part-time writing tutor for three years and completing an internship in the UMHB sports information office during her senior year.
A decorated student-athlete, Walters also became the first acrobatics & tumbling athlete in UMHB program history to hold school records in all individual tumbling heats.
