AS A FRESHMAN (2022-23) | Game-By-Game Stats
Averaged 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game … played in all 32 games, starting the last 25 contests of the year … ranked 3rd on the team in scoring, 2nd in rebounding and led the Mavericks at 29.5 minutes per contest … double-figure points 15 times, and had 17 occurrences of 5+ rebounds … UTA’s first league Freshman of the Year since Roge’r Guignard claimed the Southland Conference’s award in 2007 … led all WAC freshmen in points (304), rebounds (146), steals (29), field goals made (100), 3-pointers made (33), free throws made (71) and minutes (943) … the only two key categories he didn’t lead in he finished 2nd in both assists (64) and blocks (12) … among those freshmen who attempted at least 200 shots, his 44.2 field goal percentage (100-226) was the best, and among those freshmen who took at least 60 triples his 40.2-percent rate (33-82) was also the highest… one of only two UTA players (Kyron Gibson) with multiple 20-point games: 20 versus Southwestern (Nov. 12) and a career-high 21 against Sam Houston (Feb. 4), going a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line … double-figure points in six-straight games Feb. 4-23 (no more than two in a row prior to that stretch) … fell just short of a double-double with eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds at San Francisco (Dec. 19) … passed out a season-most six assists opposite UT Rio Grande Valley (Jan. 19) … #8 Play on SportsCenter’s Top 10 on Feb. 6 for a one-handed putback dunk.

HIGH SCHOOL
Led Mansfield Timberview to the 2022 UIL 5A State Championship Game …  averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per outing … earned All-State and All-Tournament Team accolades … voted as the unanimous District 8-5A MVP, and also garnered UIL 5A Region 1 Regional Tournament MVP and TABC 5A All-Region accolades … averaged a double-double of 17 points and 10.5 rebounds at the state tournament … scored 28 points in the regional final against Amarillo and current UTA teammate Damonze Woods … followed it up with a 22-point, 11-rebound performance in a 12-point win over Boerne Champion in the state semifinals … guided Timberview to a 36-5 record … Swin City All-Star Game selection.

Born on Oct. 12, 2003 … son of Shonda Perkins … has three siblings: Cameron Corsey, Chandler Carter and Chennedy Carter … Chennedy (Carter) is a former Texas A&M All-American and 4th overall pick of the Atlanta Dream in the 2020 WNBA Draft who is currently with the Los Angeles Sparks.
