Former Auburn standout Courtney McDonald – most recently the director of operations at Baylor – is in her first season as an assistant coach with the UTA volleyball program.

"The UTA volleyball program is really excited to add Courtney to the staff," Wenger said. "She has been a part of some amazing institutions, and has been exposed to volleyball philosophies similar to mine, which will serve the team well. Her experience spans across three conferences, the Big XII, SEC and ACC, and she had a fantastic playing career. Courtney has had a great impact immediately with the athletes, and the program as a whole."

McDonald, a native of Palmetto, Fla., joins the UTA coaching staff after spending the last two seasons as the director of volleyball operations at Baylor. She also spent a season on the Florida State University staff as the director of operations in 2014, helping lead the Seminoles to the NCAA Elite Eight.

“I am so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to work at UT Arlington," McDonald said. "I want to give a special thanks to J.T. Wenger and Jim Baker. UT Arlington athletics is growing and I am excited to be a part of that.”

A former star at Auburn, McDonald finished her career on the plains in 2013, ranking 10th all-time in career hitting percentage, finishing with 451 kills on 1,095 attacks for the Tigers
