NACOGDOCHES, Texas...Freshman libero Ashley Smith led the Mavericks defense with a career high 28 digs as UTA dropped a four-game match (30-24, 26-30, 24-30, 23-30) at Stephen F. Austin Tuesday evening. The Mavericks fell to 8-10 overall and 6-4 in the league.

Junior Caley Smith led the Mavs offense with 17 kills, also picking up 15 digs in the match. Melissa Robinett joined Smith in double-digits with 12 kills. Seniors Elizabeth Davis and Julie Felts also contributed double figure digs with 11 and 10 respectively. Setter Heather Dunn dished out 46 assists in the match.

Texas-Arlington returns to action Friday when it plays host to Louisiana-Monroe at 7 p.m. at Texas Hall.
