ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington's women's tennis squad remains undefeated in Southland Conference play after defeating Lamar 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center. The Lady Mavericks improve to 11-4 overall and 6-0 in the league.

UTA jumped in front early after claiming the doubles point with wins at each position. Marketa Cizova and Daniela Novakova dropped Elena Korbout and Kendall Gibbs 8-2 at the top doubles position. Monika Peciulionyte paired with Simri van Rooyen to hand Haley Bakker and Andrea Martinez an 8-5 loss at No. 2 doubles while Anete Rozkalne and Jitka Vetrovcova eased past Nicole Weber and Beatriz de Regil 8-0.

UTA's dominance continued in singles action. Peciulionyte claimed a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the top singles position while Novakova, playing in the two hole, earned a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Weber. At the No.. 3 position, van Rooyen dropped Bakker 6-0, 6-0 while Rozkalne battled for a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win in the four hole. Vetrovcova handed Gibbs a 6-2, 6-1 loss at the No. 5 position and Gretel Hach defeated Regil 6-2, 7-5 in the final singles flight.

Texas-Arlington returns to action Sunday when it plays host to McNeese State at 10 a.m.
