ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas-Arlington's David Corrie came back from one set down to clinch a 4-3 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette Sunday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center in Arlington. The Mavericks improve to 5-4 overall with the win.

Texas-Arlington fell behind early as the Rajun Cajuns claimed the first team point after dropping the Mavericks at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Marc Castellana and Ivan Kovalev prevailed 8-6 over David Corrie and Nathan McGregor at the top doubles spot. Evghenii Corduneanu paired with Amanjot Singh to drop Ian Vazquez-Rowe and Niels Buksik 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Sandy Farquharson and Josey Trimmier teammed up for the Mavericks' lone doubles win, handing Shaun Ellison and Robin Ley an 8-4 decision at No. 3.

Farquharson, Buksik and Vazquez-Rowe all claimed straight set victories in singles action for the Mavericks, while No. 32 Corrie rallied from one set back to defeat No. 53 Carduneanu to give UTA the win.

The Mavericks return to action Saturday, March 13 when they play host to Lamar University at 10 a.m.
