MAVS CANNOT PICK UP GROUND AT NCAA REGIONALS

STANFORD, Calif. - The UTA men's golf team carded a second round score of 27-over-par 307 to stay in a tie for 21st place after the second day of the NCAA West Regionals at the Stanford Golf Course here Friday.

UTA will conclude the tournament Saturday afternoon. The Mavs trail tenth place Southern California by 26 strokes. The top 10 teams at the regional tournament advance to the NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championships near Baltimore June 1-3.

UTA was led by sophomore Marc Campbell (Southlake, Texcas) with a second day score of three-over-par 73. He is tied for 39th place in the tournament.

Other UTA scores on Friday include: Jordan Krantz with an 80, Zack Reeves with a 79, Tyrone Mordt a 75 and an 84 by junior Jeff Murray.

Nevada-Las Vegas leads the tournament with a two-under-par 576.
