The UT Arlington Mavericks will play their fifth undefeated team of the 2006-07 season when they host UT-Dallas on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Mavs played an undefeated team the first four games of the season against UT-Tyler, North Texas, TCU and Texas-Pan American. The Mavs went 3-1 during the early stretch, including an 83-81 win at UNT.
UT Dallas (10-0, 6-0 in the American Southwest Conference) comes in with its best record in school history after defeating Howard Payne 85-71 on Dec. 18.
Senior guard Martin Salinas is UTD's leading scorer with 24.2 points per game. He has led the team in scoring in seven of 10 game this season, including a career-high 38 points in a double-overtime win over Concordia-Austin.
UT Arlington (4-6) has dropped five of six games, all on the road, after starting the season 3-1. The Mavs dropped a 14-point decision to Texas Southern on Dec. 20. UTA snapped a four-game losing skid with a 78-77 come-from-behind win over UC-Riverside two days earlier.
Following Saturday's game, UTA will travel to Austin to face Texas in a FOX regionally televised game on Jan. 2. Southland Conference play begins Jan. 4 versus Central Arkansas at Texas Hall.
