MAVS LOOK TO REBOUND ON THE ROAD

MACOMB, Ill. - - The UT Arlington Mavericks will try and snap their first losing streak of the season when they travel to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois. Tip off is at 8 p.m. from Western Hall.

UT Arlington (3-3) were defeated by Illinois State Saturday, 86-62, while WIU took a heart-breaking 54-53 loss at home to Morehead State.

The Leathernecks (2-4) have lost four straight games by a total of seven points, including a 97-95 five overtime setback to Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne.

UT Arlington will look to rebound after its lowest offensive output of the season. The Mavs were held 20 points below their season average. UTA made just 38.5% from the field (20 of 52), a season low. Sophomore guard Brandon Long (Richton Park, Ill.) came off the bench for a career-high 17 points in his return to his home state. Sophomore forward Anthony Vereen also scored 17 points.

The Mavs' have averaged 70.0 points the last three games after averaging 86.3 the first three games of the season.

UT Arlington will take a 12-day break before returning to action Dec. 16 at Oklahoma.
