BOISE, Idaho - The Texas-Arlington men's tennis team split two matches on Saturday at the Boise State Invitational.

Texas-Arlington (8-4) opened the day by defeating College of Santa Fe, 5-1. Sandy Farquharson, Diego Mattar, Daniel Omana, Alberto Agis and Niels Buksik all won singles matches to put the Mavericks into the fifth-place match against Western Michigan.

In the match versus #40 Western Michigan, the Mavericks lost four of the six singles matches, with their only victory coming at the number one position. Farquharson defeated Tim Bradshaw 6-2, 7-5, for their only point.

The Mavericks will be back in action Wednesday when they host SE Louisiana. First-serve is set for 2 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
