HAMMOND, La. - Southeastern Louisiana rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to defeat the UT Arlington Mavericks 73-69 in a Southland Conference men's college basketball game here Saturday afternoon.

Southeastern Louisiana (10-7, 2-2) got 12 second-half points from Terry Bryant who finished with a career-high 19 points to lead three in double figures for the Lions. Quennell Green scored 14 points and Ray Cummings came off the bench to record his double-figure game with 12.

UT Arlington (5-11, 1-3) lost for the 10th time in 12 games. The Mavs were led by Jermaine Griffin with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Anthony Vereen scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds.

UT Arlington used a 14-2 run in the second half to break a 41-41 tie. A Larry Posey tip in with 11:51 to play gave the Mavs a 55-43 lead.

Trailing 59-50 with 8:52 to play, SELU went on an 11-0 run to take a 61-59 lead after a 3-pointer by Green with 4:22 to play. The Lions took the lead for good on a Green basket with 2:37 left to give the Lions a 64-61 edge. SELU made of 7 of 10 free throws in the final minute to preserve the win.

Cummings came off the bench to score 11 points on 5-of-6 field-goal shooting as SELU built a 34-31 halftime lead. The Mavs committed turnovers in the opening half that resulted in 10 Lion points. Griffin kept UT Arlington close with 12 points and eight rebounds in the opening 20 minutes as no team led by more than five points.

NOTES: Griffin scored in double figures for the ninth straight game and posted his third straight 20-point game... UT Arlington improves to 17-3 all-time against Southeastern Louisiana and is the first Mav win in Hammond, La., since 2003.
