The UT Arlington Mavericks will look for a rare win over a Big 12 Conference program and a chance to build some momentum before Southland Conference play at Texas today.
UTA (4-7) has dropped six of seven games after a humbling 78-76 loss versus UT-Dallas on Saturday afternoon at Texas Hall.
The Mavericks led by 14 points with eight minutes to play, before UTD (11-0) rallied to win stay undefeated.
Junior center Jermaine Griffin (Houston, Texas) led UTA with 17 points. He has led the nation in field-goal percentage during the first month of the season. He enters Tuesday's game shooting 68.1% from the field (64 of 94).
The Mavericks continue to search for the right chemistry with four different starting lineups in the last five games. True freshman Tommy Moffitt (Irving, Texas) made his first start against UT-Dallas. UTA is 3-45 all-time against Big 12 Conference members, including an 89-60 loss at Oklahoma on Dec. 16. UTA is 0-5 all-time against Texas.
UT Arlington will return to Texas Hall Jan. 4 to host Central Arkansas in the SLC opener for both teams.
