UT Arlington had seven players post double figures to defeat Austin College 105-63 in a non-conference game at Texas Hall Tuesday night.
UT Arlington (7-14) scored 100 points in a game for the first time since 103-45 win over Hardin Simmons Dec. 29, 2001. The 42-point margin was the largest for the Mavs since a 96-53 win over Texas-Permian Basin on Dec. 5, 2003.
Anthony Vereen scored 15 points, all in the second half, to lead the Mavs. Jermaine Griffin (13), Rodrick Epps (12), Matt Read (11), Brandon Long (11), Larry Posey (10) and Ro'ger Guignard (10) all scored in double figures with sophomore Jeremy Dewalt adding nine.
Austin College ( 5-13) was led by Kyle Lintelman's 12 points.
UT Arlington led by three, 28-25, after a Brian Hambrick 3-pointer with 4:43 left in the first half before the Mavs went on a 17-4 run to end the half and build a 47-29 lead at intermission.
Griffin opened the second half scoring the first seven points and Epps added a 3-pointer with 17:10 left in the game to stretch the lead to 57-29. The Mavs led by as many as 47, 102-55, after a Read jumper with 2:46 to play.
