MAVS FALL IN THREE TO LAMAR

BEAUMONT - UT Arlington volleyball fell in three (30-17, 30-28, 30-20) at Lamar on Saturday. The Mavs fall to 13-9 overall on the season and 6-3 in the SLC, while Lamar improves to 18-7 and remains unbeaten at 9-0 in the league.

The Mavs and Cardinals traded leads early in game one before a Lamar 8-2 run gave them the 16-9 advantage. The Cardinals went on another 7-3 to lead 23-12 and force the Mavs to burn their second timeout. From there, Lamar went on a 7-5 run to win game one 30-17.

In game two, both teams matched points until the Mavs put together a 3-1 run to lead 15-13. Lamar answered with a 9-2 run to take the 21-17 lead and closed out the game with a 10-11 run to win 30-28.

Lamar took the early lead in game three and did not relinquish it winning 30-20.

The Mavs will be back in action when they return to Texas Hall for a three-game home stand, which kicks off on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Texas State.
