STYLES SETS SCHOOL RECORD

WALNUT, Calif. - UT Arlington distance runners Koby Styles set a new school record in the 10,000 meters while teammate Jody Broccoli-Hickey ran the third fastest time in UTA outdoor track history during the 49th Mt. Sac Relays late Friday night.

Styles, a senior transfers, finished 30th in the invitational race with a time of 30-minutes, 16.69-seconds, breaking the old record set by Calvin McGill (30:23.33) in 1986. Hickey finished 38th in the same race with a 30:57.18.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Shadrock Sangok clocked the second best collegiate time of the outdoor season and one of the fastest times in the world this season with a 28:16.47 to win the race.

The remainder of the UT Arlington track and field team are competing at the North Texas Classic in Denton. Results will be posted Saturday night.
