FRISCO, Texas - Sophomore Dmitry Minkin was named to the 2008 Capital One Academic All-Southland Conference Men's Tennis Team, the league office announced Monday.

The St. Petersburg, Russia native is an Interdisciplinary Studies major and was the conference's 2007 Newcomer of the Year.

Minkin finished 4-18 on the season, going 2-3 as the No. 1 single and 4-10 as the No. 2 single. He partnered with freshman David Costa as the No. 1 doubles duo for a 7-10 record on the season, and finished with a 3-2 tally in SLC matches.

Southeastern Louisiana's Vladimir Paunic was voted the 2008 Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Year. The whole 2008 Capital One Academic All-Southland Conference Men's Tennis Team is listed below.
