Arlington, Texas - UTA jumper Andrew Duncan III has been named Southland Conference Men's Athlete of the Week after he qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Meet in two events (high jump and triple jump) at the Mean Green Twilight Invitational in Denton last week.

The Austin native jumped a height of 2.15 meters and set a new personal best mark in the high jump. That jump was also high enough to be the best mark of any UTA athlete in the event all season. Also, Duncan III finished 2nd in the men's triple jump final with a leap of 15.23 meters setting his season's best mark in the process.

The Southland Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships begin Friday in Nacogdoches, Texas.
