Final Results 
San Antonio, Texas - The UT Arlington golf team registered their first victory of the season with a seven stroke win at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio Monday.
The Mavericks finished with a 9-under score of 855 to win by seven shots over Notre Dame. UTA shot a 2-under 286 Tuesday to hold off the Irish and North Texas who finished in third, eight shots behind.
"We had another great team effort today to win this tournament," UTA head coach Jay Rees said. "Everyone contributed to this victory and this is really the first time we have been able to have all five players do well at a tournament this season."
The victory was the 10th for Rees in his UTA career.
Wes Worster led the tournament after 36 holes but fell off the pace Monday as he shot 74 and finished in a tie for third at 3-under 213. Paul McConnell had his best finish of the season with the same score as Worster after shooting an one-under 71 Monday.
Zack Fischer made the biggest move of the day for the Mavericks as he shot a 3-under 69 to jump from a tie for 28th to a tie for 12th at even-par 216. Jesse Gibson also finished in a tie for 12th with the same score of 216 after shooting an even-par 72 Monday.
Enrique Livas finished with a 78 Monday and slid to a tie for 39th at 224 (+8). Carson Kallis played as an individual and he in 19th at 3-over 219.
This tournament was the final one of the fall for the Mavericks who will next play in February.
